The Houston Astros are joining Major League Baseball in honoring Lou Gehrig Day on June 2nd, a day dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The day commemorates the legendary baseball player who was diagnosed with the debilitating disease in 1939.

In addition to wearing special number 4 decals on their uniforms, the Astros will participate in various activities to recognize Lou Gehrig's legacy and the impact of ALS on individuals and families.

Astros fan Gill Garcia, whose father battled ALS, will share his personal story and highlight the importance of supporting research and care for those affected by the disease.
